Youth mediation Program
The Community Dispute Resolution Center (CDRC) has partnered with the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia (OAG) to mediate cases involving juvenile offenders and the victims of that juvenile's actions. These cases involve the following types of offenses:
- Assault
- Destruction of Property
- Threats
- Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle (UUV, i.e. joyriding)
- Theft
Mediations are held at the Office of Attorney General, 441 Fourth St., NW, Washington, D.C.
The program is still relatively new, but the results are impressive: all cases mediated have resulted in a resolution, and 100% of parties report being satisfied with the process.
For more information regarding the OAG Mediation Program, please contact CDRC Program Coordinator, Kalee Bacon at (202) 265-9572.
To contact OAG, please call (202) 727-3400 or visit the OAG website.
OAG Youth Mediation Program participants have stated:
It was very professional and straight to the point. Both parties were very pleasant and came to an agreement.
I'm glad this case was handled in this matter, and the mediators were great.
